SHINee’s Tae Min will make a surprise cameo on High Kick 3. Tae Min will play the role of Krystal’s boyfriend named Lee Sang Hyun in the 68th episode of MBC’s High Kick 3, which will air on December 28. Since Tae Min is a member of idol group SHINee and Krystal is a member of girl group f(x), their romance in the sitcom will draw a lot of attention. Tae Min will describe a lovely teenager couple in the sitcom. Sang Hyun (played by Tae Min) recently broke up with his girlfriend and Soo Jung (played by Krystal) asks him to be her boyfriend. Sang Hyun wants to think about it but Soo Jung says, “You have to decide in three minutes.” Then they become a couple and all these events happens through text messages. Tae Min and Krystal shot the scene on December 23, a day before Christmas eve. The two stars performed like a real couple. They are close friends because they both are from same agency. They looked like close brother and sister while shooting the scene. Tae Min previously appeared on the sitcom, Tae Hee, Hye Kyo, Ji Hyun, which aired in 2009 and showed a great potential to become an actor. This is his second appearance as an actor after two years. SHINee was met with an unfortunate incident on December 7 that caused the cancellation of their guerrilla album release event in Japan.
At 5 PM on December 7, SHINee was scheduled to hold an album release event at the Shibuya Parco Mall for their first Japanese album, "The First." In Japan, December 7 is celebrated as 'Christmas Tree Day,' a day celebrated in honor of the first Christmas tree in Japan in 1886. SHINee was originally supposed to make a surprise appearance dressed in Santa suits. They must have underestimated their popularity, though, as over 1,000 fans showed up, causing police to come out to handle the crowd. They eventually shut down the event 30 minutes before it was to begin to ensure everyone's safety. Fans had to be content with watching the music video for "Lucifer," which was shown on a large LED display outside. On December 8, Sankei Sports and Sports Nikkan reported, "SHINee's album event for 'The First' was cancelled. Despite never having put up prior notices, over 1,000 fans gathered, causing police to come out." Jonghyun said, "I'd like to repay this incident to our fans at the fan event on the 24th at the Tokyo International Forum Hall." On December 24, SHINee will be performing at the Tokyo International Forum Hall A for their "The First" release showcase. They will also be participating in the "Music For All, All For One" live event at the Yoyogi Gymnasium on December 25. SHINee's Minho will make his first attempt at comedic acting.
Minho has been confirmed for the new SBS sitcom "Salamander Guru," which will air early next year. He will play the role of Min Hyuk, a genius hacker who has a fear of people, and will act alongside Lim Won Hee and Oh Dal Soo. Sources from the sitcom stated, "We know that Minho is practicing his acting skills lately. Minho will play a hacker that intervenes and controls Lim Won Hee and Oh Dal Soo, who are part of a 2-person robber band." Minho has already played a role in the KBS drama, "Pianist" and was praised for his acting. He played the role of Oh Jae, a twenty-year old piano genuis, who developed a romance with Han Ji Hye. Sources from the sitcom said, "Because Minho showed much wit and sense in many of the variety programs, we have high hopes for him in this upcoming sitcom. Although it will be his first attempt at comedic acting, we believe that he will be able to play his part well." "Salamander Guru" will be the first sitcom in five years after the SBS sitcom, "Mackerel Run." The sitcom is about a robber duo impersonating a guru and the diverse series of events that happen over the course of time. It will begin airing January of next year. SNSD’s Sunny and SHINee’s Taemin will lend their voices to characters in the animated film “The Outback” (also known as “Kid Koala: The Birth of a Hero.”) The two K-Pop idols are set to be the Korean counterparts to Hollywood actors Yvonne Strahovski and Rob Schneider in this Korean-American co-production. Taemin will voice the lead character Johnny, a white koala that was an outcast in a circus. Sunny’s character is Miranda, a tough and cute koala. The movie follows Johnny’s story in the journey to become a hero, as he bands together with other wild animals to save Australia’s nature. “The Outback,” directed by Lee Kyung Ho, will also feature the voices of actors Tim Curry and Alan Cumming in its English language release. The film is expected to open in theaters in 2012. Earlier this month the members of SHINee attended the “The 6th London Korean Film Festival.” The special appearance might have been back on November 3, but it wasn’t the last British Shawol’s have heard from the quintet. As in the wake of their successful concert a well-known British newspaper, “The Independent,” featured the fellas in a special article. The piece was titled, “K-Pop Craze: The K-Factor." In the article, “The Independent” recapped SHINee’s stellar autumn, from their ability to jam-pack the Tokyo Dome back in September to aiding their fellow SM Family members in selling out New York’s Madison Square Garden in October. The group's popularity continues to spread worldwide. The boys even caused Odeon’s website to crash as the influx of traffic to the site was so massive within just a minute of the tickets being available for purchase. The damage caused by eager fans left the site incapacitated for a total of five hours. Also within the article was an interview with the members. Taemin responded to a question about how he got his start in the industry: “All of us went through the casting and audition process with SM Entertainment. Most commonly people who begin the process are young teenagers. I on the other hand auditioned while I was in elementary school.” Along with the in-depth look at the SHINee boys, the article discussed Hallyu (Korean Wave), expressing theories about the recent appeal of Korean culture, “The K-Pop style may be a crucial part of the movement. British fans have significant interest in their looks and style.” Additionally it looked at how the movement is spreading throughout the globe, “Most fans stumbled onto a K-Pop video, and it is easily accessible thanks to portals such as YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and the bands’ own website to find even more content.” Coming up next for the group is their first full Japanese release appropriately titled, “The First.” Their latest Japanese album will be released on December 7.
